No one remembers the former generations, and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them. Ecclesiastes Ch. 1 v. 11.

In remembrance of our unknown family members contained herein.
This page is dedicated to and features photos of “unknown” descendants of James Wright b. 1799. While you look, please note that none of the men or women wore wedding bands. Many of the photos have the studio name; some do not. Other significant comments will be notated under each such as any identifying marks or jewelry, etc.
The first five inserted photos are tintypes that Eldon Wright said are the family members of James Jefferson Wright 1799 (his grandfather). Because of the time lapse and the fact that he received the photo album passed down through two generations after James 1799, he did not know specifically who they were. He did, however, recall and name all of the other photos. Sadly, no one wrote down the names. Eldon’s son Harold Paul Wright did identify John Harvey Wright (Eldon’s father and son of J.J. Wright 1832) as well as “Uncle Than,” Nathaniel Wright, pictured with his wife/child.
By looking at the props and backdrops in the five tintypes [pictures 1-5], it seems that the first 2 may have been done at the same studio. The remaining 3 are definitely from another [same] photo shoot. The pictures would have been taken either in Virginia or in Ross County Ohio where James and Elizabeth resided and passed away.

I first thought he was holding a handgun in the picture but it looks more like a pipe because of the end being bent.

Mary Ann Gleason-Wright and James Jefferson Wright. We are wondering if the adolescent male to James’ left is their son who died of small pox, Francis Michael.

The next series of pictures are printed on cabinet cards. Please note the studio names and their locations. If you are fashion savvy to the period, this may help identify an approximate date.
#7:

Can anyone confirm if this is JJ & Mary Ann’s daughter Grace or Rose with her husband?

#10:

I think the top left is Sarah, Alice or Winnie with John Harvey (for sure on him); and then the same women in the photos on the upper and lower right.
#11:

Can anyone confirm which daughter of JJ and Mary she is??
#12:
In the left picture, this woman has an ornate collar pin that looks like a scripted lettering. She is wearing the same band style ring on the left index finger in both photos.

This man’s tie tack has an M and the watch fob appears to have an “a” embossed on it.

The remaining photos are traditional black and white photos from around 1910 forward. Some family members are identified in group photos while others are unnamed.

This is the headstone for James and Mary Ann Wright. The birth year for JJ is erroneously engraved as 1822; however, he was born in 1832.

This picture is the interior of a locket worn by Mamie Wright who is the daughter of John Harvey and Mary Ann Wright. The mystery is identifying the man pictured within the locket. He was unknown to the area and Eldon (her brother) said nobody in the family knew who he was and she never told! He and his wife, Esta, are the ones who said the man was not from Princeton or the surrounding area.

JoAnn Wright-Wintenburg found the follow photo in her sister’s belongings and is asking if anyone can help identify him. They are the great-granddaughters of Elijah Wright; son of JJ and Mary Ann. Clarence Wright is Elijah’s son.

This 1956 group photo would be descendants of Elijah Tuttle Wright. Harold W. Wright has been identified as the tall man in the center of the front row. Help is needed in identifying the remaining family members. Photo courtesy of JoAnn Wright-Wintenburg.
